The design of the bathroom is a complex blending of aesthetics, ease of use, accessibility and safety.  We can design and build an accessible bathroom that doesn't look institutional.
To increase a person's safety you want to remove any trip hazards, create flooring surfaces that are non-slip, provide ample lighting, and make sure the person is able to easily and safely transition in and out of bathing/ showering area.
Spatial relationships required depends on the person's abilities.  Bigger is not always better. People with visual impairments and low energy levels typically prefer compact areas.  We take the following issues into consideration: transfer on/off toilet, in/out of shower & tub, access to the sink, outlets, switches and storage supplies, clear door opening, the door's swing, and their use of an assistive device/s for mobility.
For remodel projects, the above changes need to be superimposed on existing size and location of bathroom, location of HVAC runs, electrical, and  plumbing. Modifications to the surrounding area may be necessary if extra space is needed.  As you increase the amount of modifications to these areas the cost of the project increases accordingly.
